The MTR Rava Idli Mix 1 Kg is a highly popular, instant ready-to-cook breakfast blend made from premium semolina (rava), seasoned with traditional ingredients like mustard seeds, curry leaves, ginger, chana dal, and crunchy cashew nuts. Invented originally by the heritage culinary brand MTR Foods, this mix allows you to steam soft, airy, and fluffy restaurant-style rava idlis at home in under 15 minutes without the hassle of overnight fermentation
- Yield: One 1 kg pack yields approximately 50 to 52 standard-sized idlis.
- Dietary Profile: 100% Vegetarian; contains wheat (semolina) and cashews.
- Shelf Life: Typically up to 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in a cool, dry place.
- Nutritional Highlights: Rich source of energy providing about 388–404 kcal per 100g, along with 8–10g of protein and dietary fibe
- Mix: Combine 1 measure of the MTR Rava Idli Mix with 1 measure of sour curd (yogurt) and let the mixture rest for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Adjust: Add another 1 measure of sour curd and mix well (you can optionally add finely chopped fresh coriander leaves for extra flavor).
- Steam: Pour the thick batter into oiled idli molds and steam in a pre-heated idli cooker or pressure cooker on medium-high heat for 10 to 12 minutes. Serve hot alongside coconut chutney, potato sagu, or steaming sambar
